Why, yes why, should you start a blog in 2024? Well, why not?!
Are the days of blogging not over? Blogging that is oldskool right..or not?
Everyone is on social media (Instagram, TikTok etc) its so hard to be discovered and to make money on these platfoms. The competition is just too big.
Bogging changed. It changed into a real business with information people need and search for. There are billions of people that Google everyday and want information.
As a blogger you are the expert, you can inform people and give them online education.
A lot of personal bloggers stopped with their blogs and became YouTubers and Instagrammers. I think they are missing chances and money now. Because a blog can be a good way of passive income.
You can make money with advertising, affiliate marketing and sponsored posts, but also with selling your own merchandise. After a while you will have fans that want to buy your stuff.
A lot of people think about Google Adsense when they hear about blogging, but no this will not make you rich. No Google Adsense is nothing (im sorry). I have no good experience with it. But maybe others blogging do make money with it. Tell me below if you do make money with this Adsense and how much. Im very curious.
I am talking about advertisers like Mediavine, Adthrive and Mediafem. These advertisers make you a good amount of money. You read so much about these advertisers and I can’t wait to get accepted for it. It all depends on your traffic and your niche. Are you a finance blogger? Expect to make 20 to 30 dollar for every 1000 pageviews. Thats really a lot! Also lifestyle bloggers can make 20 dollar for every 1000 pageviews. Well do the math! having 1 million pageviews? Boom, you are a rich blogger.
Fashion and beauty bloggers can recommend products and make a percentage of the sale. But this will only make you a fulltime income if you have a lot of readers/traffic. So what does that mean? What am I talking about? Lets say 500.000 unique visitors. Then you will make a fulltime income with affiliate marketing for sure.
But what about selling your own products? Once you are a bit blog famous and have a name on social media and Google, you can sell your own merchandise. Don’t do this the first year of course, cause getting traffic, readers and fans takes time.
Huda Kattan started her own beauty brand 3 years after starting her beauty blog full of tips and information. She is worth 600 million now.
Her blog was the start of a huge beauty empire and now she is running the make-up industry.
Other bloggers like Aimee Song and Chiara4Ferragni started their own clothing brands.
But I think most people forget that blogging alone can make you money. You don’t always need to sell products. You can make money selling advertising, banners etc on your blog. You have the traffic so advertisers will find your blog. But you can also send companies that work with advertisers an email. For example Upfluence. But there are more networks for bloggers and influencers. There are a lot of networks out there. It can help if you also have a lot of followers. A lot of companies nowadays are looking for followers and likes also. But there are also still enough advertisers that want to work with big bloggers.
So enough reasons to start blogging in 2024.
It can make you famous, it can make you earning passive income a month, it can even make you rich. It can give you freedom! So not only focus on social media but become a famous blogger.
