TikTok, a video-sharing social media platform, has experienced rapid growth and is a big competitor for Instagram, facebook and Google. People search for things on TikTok now. It became a search engine.
TikTok now has more then 1 billion users and is very popular among the youth. It is the platform for the next Generation. TikTok in 2024 became the most-downloaded app in the world, quietly surpassing nstagram and Twitter. It even took over YouTube as the social media platform users spend the most time watching. Can you imagine?
2.Instagram
In 2024, Instagram is still one of the most prominent players on the social media world, and for a good reason. As of December 2021, Instagram has reached 2 billion active users worldwide. Although Instagram had its best days and more and more people turning to other apps like Bereal and TikTok. The perfect lives days of Instagram are a bit over. Instagram will be moving away from a primarily photography-based platform to focus more on video content. And ow boy the Kardashians with their perfect editted images don’t like that.
3.Twitter
Well this one is a joke of course;) I think Twitter has had its best days. I dont know what Elon Musk is doing with the platform. He bought Twitter for 44 billion. Elon Musk is worth 200 billion.
MIT Technology Review estimates that Twitter has lost more than a million users since the acquisition so its not that much, but we have no good hopes for this platform in the future. It already was not that popular anymore even before he bought it. Twitter has around 450 million monthly active users as of 20224
