But blogging, is this still a thing in 2024? yes, but not only about your personal life. You need to write about famous people, about famous trends, about things people search for in Google!
Blogging is a way to make money online from your own home or from anywhere in the world. You probably know the story of many bloggers who are earning a huge sum of money every month. 10k a month? Ow hell yes! Bloggers and entrepreneurs like Pat Flynn, Joel Brown, Neil Patel and Perez Hilton, But how did they do it? How do should you start your own blogging empire? Where do you start and do you keep up? Cause blogging is a long-term process. It costs time to rank in Google and to get traffic. Time and of course marketing.
Launching Your First Blog:
From launching a blog till the point that you are finally making money with it, you need to follow some steps properly. So let’s have a look at the steps and how to get starting with a blog.
So how to start a succesful blog?
1. Niche selection
This is the most important step. There are thousands of niches to work with but not every niche is good for you and is good for making money. So you need to find the perfect niche to write about. While picking your niche, search for the profitable niches and identify which one is comfortable for you. Pick a niche that you are interested in. For example fashion or beauty. I am interesting in fashion and beauty so that is a good match. It is always better going for a blog that has your interest. You will be more passionated and will put more work in it. 2. Domain & Hosting
You will need a domain name, for example iammandyb.com. The name should be attractive, short, and simple so that people can remember your blog easily. Moreover, shorter domain names have a higher chance of indexing on search engines. Check the availability of your domain and purchase the domain. A lot of good and short domains are already gone. Of course there are more smart people out there. So think of something original or buy a domain name at Flippa or GoDaddy. You will also need hosting. Hosting is your spot on the internet. Without hosting no website online. Blogging does not have to be expensive. There are enough hosting providers out there. Check out this for a nice review of the many ones out there.
3. Launch site
Install WordPress (yes go for WordPress), the days of blogspot are over, in your hosting, select a theme for your blog site. You can go for a free theme but you can also go for a website designer. Are you an entrepreneur on a Budget? No problem. Have a look at websites like Fiverr, Freelancer and Upwork. They are affordable and if you do a little research you can find a good website designer/developer for everything you need. ou will also need SEO also known as search engine optimization. You want to be find for certain keywords and you want your content to rank in Google, right? Need a SEO-specialist? Also have a look at these freelance websites.
4. Good content is key
Now that your site is live, it’s time for you to create blog posts that your viewers will love to read. Do some keyword research and make sure you have original posts. Get inspired by other bloggers but don’t copy. Give it your own writing style. Try to write 2/3 a week for a long time. Like for a few years. Consistency is key! You will see results in the long-term. So stay patient!

5. Social media
Share your blog posts on social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest to drive more traffic to your blog site. And what about TikTok? Are you one TikTok already? But you can also think of starting a YouTube channel and making money with blogging and Youtube! Best of both worlds right? Not good with video’s? You can teach yourself everything. Be open-minded and do it yourself. Check out some tutorials about making video’s. Who knows I am starting a YouTube account soon. For now blogging is my thing. You can also think of spending some money on advertising on some platforms like Insta and Facebook to get more followers and likes and engagement. Some people will love your blog and will come back to it everytime you write something new.
6: Making Money with your blog
There are many ways how you can make money with your blog. You may use advertising networks like Adsense. But there are many alternatives for Adsense for when you have enough traffic. For example Mediavine, Adthrive and Media.net. But there are many more. We are using Ezoic for now but we are not that happy with it. You can also think of affiliate marketing. Recommend fashion and beauty products and get a percentage of the sale. A good but difficult way to make money.
There are many ways to make money with your blog and you have to figure out what works best for your blog. But don’t forget it will take years. Don’t expect too much the first 2 years! Keep on going.Keep writing, keep searching for popular topics and trends, keep promoting, work on your advertising and lets go with the money flow!
